Last-minute booking ahoy, as ex-Noma chef Tom Sellers teams up with The Rebel Dining Society on a provocative new pop-up next week.
As a kind of appetite whetting amuse-bouche to the opening of his permanent restaurant Story next year, Monday and Tuesday will see 24 year old rising star Tom welcome guests to his appropriately named Foreword.
The alumni of chefs Tom’s already been working with is impressive, though we can’t help but wonder if he has a bit of a fixation for people with the same name as him. At least Adam Byatt of Trinity restaurant in Clapham has got a look in alongside name-fellows Tom Aikens and Thomas Keller.
The five-course gastronomic narrative is set to unfold in an Edwardian chapel in Bethnal Green, an area that’s quickly established itself as the home of London’s coolest up-popping ventures.
The daringly avant-garde, paired back menu includes the likes of bread and dripping for starter; beef cheek, pumpkin seed, brown butter and sorrel for main; and charred pear, parsnip and buttermilk for dessert.
Skinny jeans, quiffs and lense-less spectacles aren’t essential attire, but will surely help you blend in with the undoubtedly cool crowd in attendance. We’ll be looking out for some hipstamatic food photography coming to a Twitter feed near us soon…
Tickets are priced at £70 per person for five courses and include a cocktail on arrival and wine with dinner. To book, visit http://therebeldiningsociety.co.uk/news/
