Everyone (men) calm down. Yes, we’ve reached February, and that means that there is only a mere two weeks left until the big V-day, but trying to avoid mentioning it won’t mean she will forget about it; leaving it down to the last minute hoping you will have a sudden spurt of inspiration isn’t going to work; and no, that other idea of yours won’t be well received, it’s not a gift if she’s seen it before.
If only you had someone to help you out (no, not your mate Dave), perhaps a romantic Italian friend… Enter: Carluccio.
Food has always played an important role in the game of love – whether that be winning you over by paying for the popcorn, sharing the fingers of a KitKat, or forgetting your loved one’s allergic to shellfish (well, you can’t win every game), so turn to Carluccio’s for all the right ingredients, gifts and treats to guarantee you a winning Valentine’s day.
Chocolates or flowers? Trouble deciding which she’d prefer? Carluccio’s has gone one better and created a twist on a romantic classic - Rosa Baccarat, a traditional long-stem rose made with the finest milk chocolate. Chocolate flowers! You can opt for a single rose or a statement bouquet of a dozen, and have them delivered to your special someone’s home or workplace for the perfect Valentine’s day surprise.
Carluccio’s also offer a range of stylishly seductive, beautifully presented gifts, including devilishly delicious bocconcini al liqueur - gorgeous miniature pink sponge cakes soaked in liqueur with a hazelnut and cocoa filling, bound to tickle her fancy; and Baci Di Dama – ‘Ladies Kisses’ in a jar, which get their name from resembling a pair of lips as they are made by sandwiching together two halves of a biscuit with chocolate. (I didn’t make that up.)
Carluccio’s have even produced a Valentine’s day hamper, a takeaway feast for two, enabling you to create the perfect intimate evening at home and ensuring that you get it just right. The gourmet hamper includes an antipasti selection of focaccia with baby cherry tomatoes, Puglian olives and the finest Italian slices meats; a sharing course of fresh wild boar tortellini with fresh Parmigiano and beautiful heart-shaped truffles for dessert. It even comes complete with instructions on how to prepare and present your meal, a bottle of prosecco and one of those fantastic edible roses for dressing the table. All of this is available for a mere £35, and I hasten to add – that is a lot cheaper than eating out!
If you want to go one step further and seduce your lover with your culinary skills by cooking a spectacularly impressive three-course meal all on your own, Carluccio’s will give you a secret helping hand with that too! Running until Feb 8th, Carluccio’s will be hosting a series of masterclasses, simply named A Cena Da Me - Dinner at Mine, for £35. The classes will be very relaxed in true Italian style, and guests can enjoy cooking and eating their dishes accompanied by two glasses of wine.
And for those who want to do away with domestic responsibility altogether, Carluccio’s has poured their love into a four-course feast for you to enjoy with the apple of your eye that is available from Monday 13th to Friday 17th February.
Right, so guys, panic over – Carluccio’s have sorted it all for you! Look at all those options! Just pick up the phone or go in store and get ordering.
If Carluccio was just a little bit younger…ooph.
