Grey Goose Hosts Glittering Winter Ball to Benefit Elton John AIDS Foundation

No one does charity quite like vodka.

On Saturday, October 29, Grey Goose hosted its annual Winter Ball in the middle of Battersea Park, transformed for the evening by design, lighting and sound projections. The event was attended by a host of celebrity guests, with proceeds going to the Elton John AIDS foundation, an organization that provides aid to millions of people infected, affected or at risk of HIV/AIDS.

The night’s menu included various cocktails and canapés, as well as a four-course dinner by the world-renowned kitchen of El Bulli, run by famed chef Ferran Adria. The food was designed to fit this year’s theme, The Architecture of Taste, and featured Chef Adria’s signature molecular style. Martinis were chilled with liquid nitrogen and served alongside creative canapés like El Bulli’s Liquid Iberian Ham Croquettes. Guests also enjoyed unique cocktails created by designers like Christian Louboutin and Jonathan Saunders, partners of the event.

Following the intricate meal, an auction took place to raise money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. The evening’s partners had contributed exclusive items to the offerings, including front row tickets to fashion shows and the chance to be painted by a famed artist. The night concluded with a performance from Plan B and an after party complete with DJs and dancing.

Rest assured, all of this partying went to a good cause. This year’s Grey Goose Winter Ball raised over £500,000 for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, money that will be spent on projects like the Cambodia Habitat for Humanity scheme, which builds safe housing for families affected by HIV/AIDS.

If you couldn’t snag an invitation to this exclusive event, don’t feel bad. You still have the chance to get a taste of it. Gordon Ramsey’s restaurants York and Albany, Maze, and Bread Street Kitchen will be serving a Grey Goose Winter Ball Martini until November 13, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
