Treat Yourself to a Lavish Champagne Dinner at Plateau

“Remember gentlemen, it’s not just France we are fighting for, it’s Champagne!” –Sir Winston Churchill

And there is no champagne that Winston Churchill preferred to Pol Roger. The champagne house has been a producer of bubbly since 1849, its vintage his known favorite. Pol Roger’s finest champagne, in fact, is the robust and mature Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill, made from one of the best vintages during the Prime Minister’s lifetime.

Plateau, Canary Wharf’s elegant 4th floor restaurant, is hosting a Pol Roger Champagne dinner on Monday, November 14th, a great opportunity to find out what Churchill was on about.

The night’s menu will pair various Pol Roger champagnes with impressive French-inspired dishes designed by head chef Allan Pickett. Options include indulgences like Poached Colchester oyster and saffron and mussel velouté—but if you want to feel really posh, be sure to order the traditional French caviar.

Host James Clark of Pol Roger will choose the wines for the evening, carefully selecting from the champagne house’s collection. While you may not taste Churchill’s rare Cuvée, you are sure to have a great experience at this event. Plateau itself is a stylish and unique restaurant, a clever blend of Manhattan glamour and traditional French cuisine. Head Chef Allan Pickett uses only the freshest seasonal ingredients in his cooking, making every dining experience different from the last.

The champagne evening will begin at 7pm, and tickets are priced at £70. To book a place, email jamesj@danddlondon.com.
